Vice-President visits Ma Kamakhya Temple in Assam prays for nation’s progress

Guwahati, September 7 :On Wednesday, the historic Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati welcomed India’s Vice-President Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan for a special prayer and ritual ceremony. The Vice-President’s visit, which was greeted with traditional fanfare by the temple management and local devotees, underscored the deep spiritual and cultural significance of the temple not just for Assam, but for all of India.
During his visit, Vice-President Radhakrishnan offered prayers to Maa Kamakhya, seeking blessings for the continued development and progress of the nation, as well as the wellbeing, peace, and prosperity of all citizens. He acknowledged the temple’s importance as one of India’s most revered Shakti Peethas, attracting lakhs of devotees each year and serving as a symbol of unity, faith, and resilience.
In his message, the Vice-President said, “Today, I visited the sacred Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati and offered prayers for the nation’s sustained progress and the welfare of all. May Maa Kamakhya bless India with peace, prosperity, and strength.” He emphasized that spiritual heritage like Kamakhya inspires unity and reinforces the values of service and harmony in society.

The Vice-President’s visit occurred amid his engagements in Guwahati, including the foundation laying of new infrastructure projects at Gauhati University and the release of books on Bhupen Hazarika and Assamese lexicography. Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Governor, and senior officials also joined the Vice-President at Kamakhya Temple for the prayer ceremony.
