Assam / Rangia / Cooch Bihar WB 7 th June : A young Hindu girl from Assam’s Rangia area Borkhuriya Village , who had been missing for nearly a year, has reportedly been recovered from Takagach village in West Bengal’s Cooch Behar district.
Muslim man trapping with a Hindu name
The Hindu girl disappeared from her home more than a year ago i.e in April 2025. The family also had known the man who identified himself as “Jiban Roy,” a Hindu name and was a daily wage labourer but later it was found that he is a Muslim .This is a case of love Zihad. The girl, Sabita Das who had completed her Class 12 education, had left her home with this man and subsequently remained out of contact with her family. The girl’s father is no longer alive, leaving her mother to raise three daughters under difficult financial circumstances. As the eldest of the siblings, her disappearance dealt a severe emotional and economic blow to the family.
The Police Complaint
The First Information Report (FIR) at Rangia Police Station was put up shortly by the mother after her daughter went missing. However, no significant progress was made in tracing the girl. Frustrated by the lack of results, the family reportedly submitted another complaint linked to the original FIR approximately three months later on 10/8/25
It is alleged that the earlier investigation was not pursued with the urgency expected in missing-person case. It was claimed that repeated requests for action yielded little response and that crucial leads were not adequately followed up. When some people contacted the Rangiya police station the second officer being a Muslim had not responded properly and had tried to justify the elopement even as she herself is a Muslim which showed that intentionally she had not shown interest in the case.
Recovery from Cooch Bihar
The recovery of the girl from Takagach village has been able due to some local residents of the village when enquired about the identity of the couple.
The case has drawn attention on the subject of Hindu youth particularly girls those are getting educated and targeted.
In Assam The Love Jihad cases have surprisingly become very rampant and it is found that Muslim men disguised as Hindu are trapping the Hindu girls mostly aged between 17 to 19 years. It is very important for the society to wake up and educate the girls about the menace so that the daughters of society don’t fall into this trap and educate themselves for a better future with a good career .
