Kolkata’s photography enthusiasts can look forward to three days of visual storytelling as LensMaster, a ChitroChoritro venture, prepares to host its Season III – Winter Edition at Nazrul Tirtha, New Town, from December 4 to 6, 2026. The exhibition is scheduled to remain open from 3 pm to 8 pm each day.
According to the organisers’ presentation, the forthcoming edition will feature expressive and distinctive photographs by photographers working across disciplines, bringing contemporary and traditional approaches to a shared exhibition space. A curated professional display and a prize pool are among the planned attractions.
The winter edition continues LensMaster’s effort to nurture photographic talent through exhibitions, training, practical workshops, photographic tours and creative and technical guidance. Its activities connect opportunities to exhibit with opportunities to learn, helping participants develop both their craft and their visual voice.
Building on a Growing Exhibition Journey
LensMaster’s exhibition journey began with an inaugural exhibition and competition at Kolkata’s Noti Binodini Memorial Art Gallery in December 2024. Its second exhibition and competition followed at The Bengal Gallery, Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Kolkata, in April 2025.
The platform subsequently expanded into mobile photography, organising an exhibition and competition at Maya Art Space in October 2025 in association with Dollar Industries Limited.
Its Season III – Summer Edition was held at Nazrul Tirtha on May 23 and 24, 2026, in association with Nikon India Pvt. Ltd., Hawakal Publishers Pvt. Ltd. and The Mask. The forthcoming winter edition will return to the same New Town venue.
Learning Beyond the Gallery
Alongside exhibitions, LensMaster has conducted activities focused on practical learning and observation.
These include an advanced macro-photography workshop mentored by Ripan Biswas in July 2025 at Maya Art Space and Chintamani Kar Bird Sanctuary, followed by a macro-photography tour at Buxa Tiger Reserve in September 2026. Both initiatives were supported by Nikon India Pvt. Ltd., according to the presentation.
Its photo-walk programme has also included a low-light session with Lopamudra Talukdar at Princep Ghat and sessions with Alay Sankar Dawn at Mullick Ghat Flower Market and Galiff Street Pet Market. These outings have taken photographic learning into locations shaped by everyday activity, changing light and human interaction.
A Platform for Photography and Cultural Participation
For the December exhibition, the organisers plan to bring together photographers, artists, invited personalities and corporate guests. Names of the chief guest, guest of honour and inaugurators have not been specified in the presentation.
Sponsorship opportunities have also been outlined across title, co-sponsor, associate and food and hospitality categories, with proposed visibility through venue branding and social media promotion.
With its return to Nazrul Tirtha, LensMaster’s winter edition aims to offer photographers a public platform for their work while giving visitors an opportunity to engage with varied photographic perspectives.
