Adamas Howrah Warriors have registered a convincing victory over Novus Royals Purulia on Thursday, to successfully secure their spot in the semi-final of the Bengal T20 league. They won by six wickets against the Royals, with complete team effort. With this win, Adamas Howrah Warriors also become the first team to qualify in this year’s Bengal T20 league.
RevSportz spoke to Ankita Chakraborty, the captain of the team and she couldn’t stop beaming with pride. “I was in this team last year as well but this was my first season as the captain. It feels really nice. The team has been playing really well and I hope we keep playing like this till the last day,” said the skipper.
When asked if there was any pressure that they felt, she said there was none. “Our team is very balanced with a lot of batting depth. We have enough faith in our team and we know that someone or the other is going to step up for the team every day. Collective contribution is the key which is why we have been doing so well. Our focus now is just to be even better than this in the upcoming games and consider those as just another league stage match. No new planning, (we) will just want to continue this winning momentum.”
