The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 has crossed another major landmark, with total attendance at the tournament now going past 125,000 spectators across the United Kingdom. The milestone was reached during India’s clash against Bangladesh at Old Trafford, where 4,129 fans were in attendance.
The tournament, already billed as the biggest Women’s T20 World Cup in history, is now also the highest-selling edition of the event. More than 125,000 fans have turned up across England and Wales so far, continuing what has been a record-breaking run for the competition. Earlier in the tournament, the opening weekend itself set a new benchmark for an ICC Women’s World Cup, drawing 44,844 fans over the first three days. The India-Pakistan fixture also created history with a sell-out crowd, setting a new record for the highest attendance for a group-stage match in Women’s T20 World Cup history.
Beyond the numbers inside the stadiums, the tournament has also seen a surge in broadcast and digital engagement, further boosting the global visibility of women’s cricket.
ICC Chief Executive Sanjog Gupta said: “Crossing 125,000 in-stadia attendees is a landmark moment, not just for this event, but for the women’s game as a whole. These crowds sit alongside record-breaking broadcast and digital figures, together marking an irreversible shift in the creative, commercial and cultural standing of ICC women’s events.”
He added: “The 125,000 fans who have walked through the gates of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in England & Wales are not just spectators, they are a powerful signal of our vision for the sport and proof of everything we believe women’s cricket can become.”
Tournament Director Beth Barrett-Wild said the turnout showed women’s cricket was moving firmly into the mainstream, with several blockbuster matches still to come before the final at Lord’s on July 5.
