Kadaba: Bellare police have arrested three individuals for allegedly engaging in illegal cattle slaughter at a plantation in Manturu Mundatadka of Savanoor village in Kadaba taluk. The arrests were made following a police raid conducted on the evening of May 29 based on specific information received by the authorities.
According to police, the operation was carried out after officers received a reliable tip-off regarding suspected illegal cattle slaughter activities in the area. Acting swiftly on the information, Bellare Police Sub-Inspector Santosh B P led a team of personnel to the location and conducted a raid.
During the operation, police allegedly found the accused engaged in slaughtering a cow and preparing the meat at the plantation. The suspects were taken into custody at the scene.
Accused caught during police raid
The arrested individuals have been identified as K Abdul Rafeeq (37), Adrama Manturu (41) and Abdul Khader Panemajalu (57).
Police said the three were allegedly involved in slaughtering cattle and processing the meat without obtaining the required permit or licence. Following the raid, officers conducted a preliminary inquiry and collected evidence from the location.
The accused were subsequently taken into custody for further questioning as part of the investigation.
Meat and equipment seized
During the raid, police seized cattle meat and other materials allegedly used in the slaughtering process. The confiscated items have been taken into custody as evidence in the case.
Officials stated that the seizure was carried out in accordance with legal procedures and forms part of the ongoing investigation. Further examination of the evidence will be undertaken as part of the inquiry into the incident.
Police have not disclosed whether additional individuals were involved and said investigations are continuing to determine all aspects of the case.
Case registered under cattle preservation law
A case has been registered at Bellare Police Station as Crime No. 36/2026. The accused have been booked under Sections 4, 7 and 12 of the Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Act, 2023.
The legislation regulates cattle slaughter and prescribes penalties for violations of the Act. Authorities stated that further investigations are underway to ascertain the full circumstances surrounding the alleged offence.
Police officials have reiterated their commitment to enforcing the law and taking action against activities that violate statutory provisions related to cattle preservation and slaughter regulations.
The case remains under investigation, and further action will be taken based on the findings of the inquiry.
