Yashasvi Jaiswal firmly remains in Rajasthan Royals’ plans for the 2027 IPL, it is learnt. The player, too, has not expressed any desire to leave the franchise.
“He (Jaiswal) hasn’t told us anything (about leaving the franchise),” a top Royals functionary told RevSportz. “We are planning things for the next season with him firmly on our roster. We have heard some rumours, but from our side, Jaiswal is very much our player.”
There is speculation that Jaiswal is unhappy with the Royals putting all their eggs in one basket, with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi emerging as a key part of their plans. This was said to be one of the factors that, according to unverified reports, led to Sanju Samson’s departure as well. The wicketkeeper-batter, who was the Royals’ captain, joined Chennai Super Kings before the 2026 IPL, with Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran moving the other way. According to the functionary, however, the Royals are turning a deaf ear to the market gossip.
A story is also doing the rounds that Mumbai Indians are keen to have Jaiswal on board while offloading Hardik Pandya. There is no confirmation of this from the MI management.
Jaiswal scored 427 runs in 16 innings at a strike rate of 152.50 in the last edition of the IPL, as the Royals qualified for the playoffs.
