Thailand are set for their sixth appearance in the Women’s Asia Cup. They are in Group A alongside India, Pakistan and Hong Kong, China. Their best finish came in the 2022 edition, when they were one of the four semi-finalists. They also defeated Pakistan in the group stage.

How did they qualify for the tournament?

With an impressive performance in the ACC Women’s Premier Cup 2026, Thailand earned their qualification. They topped their group with four wins from four games before securing a 56-run win over Nepal to book their place in the Asia Cup. They then defeated Indonesia by six wickets in the semi-final, followed by a six-wicket win over the UAE in the final.

Their last competitive assignment was the tour of Papua New Guinea – two T20Is (August 10 and 11), followed by three ODIs (August 13-17).

Note 

  • There are only seven bowlers so far in Women’s T20Is who have picked up 150 or more wickets. Among them, two are from Thailand. Thipatcha Putthawong (left-arm orthodox) is at the top with 168 wickets, the joint-highest tally in T20Is alongside India’s Deepti Sharma. Onnicha Kamchomphu (right-arm off-break) is the other Thai bowler to have reached 150 wickets.
  • Nannapat Koncharoenkai is Thailand’s highest run-scorer overall with 2,779 runs. Apart from her, only two other Thailand batters have crossed the 2,000-run mark – Natthakan Chantham (2,768) and Naruemol Chaiwai (2,041).
