Mumbai, 3rd Nov. A 24-year-old woman, Fatima Khan, has been arrested in connection with a threatening message directed at Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The message warned that he would be murdered “like Baba Siddique” unless he resigned from his position within ten days. The Mumbai Police apprehended Khan after tracing the message back to her phone number.

According to police sources, Khan is highly educated, holding a BSc degree in Information Technology, and is reported to be dealing with mental health issues. She resides in Thane, near Mumbai, with her family, whose father is engaged in the timber business.

The threat surfaced when the Mumbai Traffic Police control room received a message via its WhatsApp helpline from an unknown number. This incident is part of a concerning trend, as there has been a spate of death threats received by various individuals in Mumbai in recent weeks. Many of these threats have targeted Bollywood actor Salman Khan, demanding ransom payments, especially following an earlier shooting incident outside his residence.

In a related case, the police have arrested several individuals connected to previous threats against Salman Khan, including a vegetable seller from Jamshedpur and a tattoo artist from Noida. These arrests follow the assassination of Zeeshan Siddique, a local MLA and son of the slain Baba Siddique, who was killed on October 12, an act attributed to jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang. The former politician was known to have close ties with Salman Khan, who has faced death threats related to the blackbuck hunting case in Rajasthan.
