Vijayapura, Jul 12: A 10-month-old baby from Karnataka’s Vijayapura district has earned a place in the Noble Book of World Records after climbing 21 steps in just 36 seconds, an achievement that has attracted widespread attention for his remarkable coordination and agility at such a young age.
The child, Riyans Pattanashetti, is the son of Sachin Pattanashetti and Sinchana. His feat has been officially recognised by the Noble Book of World Records after officials verified video evidence and supporting documents submitted by his family.
Remarkable achievement at just 10 months
According to his parents, Riyans first displayed his unusual ability while climbing and descending the staircase at their home.
Surprised by his speed and confidence, his mother encouraged him to climb a staircase measuring around one foot in height. The child reportedly completed the climb with ease, prompting the family to believe his ability was exceptional.
Encouraged by his performance, the family decided to document the achievement.
Videos submitted for verification
The parents recorded videos of Riyans climbing the stairs and submitted them, along with the required documentation, to the Noble Book of World Records for evaluation.
After reviewing the footage and verifying the evidence, officials recognised the achievement and awarded Riyans an official world record certificate.
The recognition makes Riyans one of the youngest children to receive acknowledgement from the record-keeping organisation for such a feat.
Parents express happiness
The achievement has brought joy to the Pattanashetti family.
Speaking about the recognition, the parents said they had never imagined their son would accomplish something so remarkable at such a young age.
They said neighbours were equally surprised by the speed with which Riyans climbed stairs and expressed happiness that Karnataka Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar had congratulated their son on the achievement.
The family described the recognition as a memorable milestone and thanked everyone who appreciated the child’s accomplishment.
Appreciation from the public
Riyans’ achievement has received admiration from residents of Vijayapura and social media users, many of whom have congratulated the family and wished the young record-holder success in the future.
His accomplishment has also drawn attention to the importance of encouraging children’s natural abilities while ensuring their activities are carried out under proper parental supervision and in a safe environment.
