Two New Vande Bharat Express Trains to Launch in Uttar Pradesh from November 7

Published:

The Indian Railways is set to boost connectivity in Uttar Pradesh with the launch of two new Vande Bharat Express trains starting November 7, 2025. The announcement marks another milestone in the government’s push to expand high-speed rail services across the state and enhance passenger convenience.

According to railway officials, one of the new trains will operate between Lucknow and Dehradun, while the other will connect Varanasi and Delhi, two of the busiest passenger routes in northern India. Both trains are expected to significantly reduce travel time and provide passengers with a premium, semi-high-speed travel experience featuring modern amenities.

The Vande Bharat trains come equipped with state-of-the-art facilities such as reclining seats, onboard Wi-Fi, automatic doors, GPS-based passenger information systems, and enhanced safety features including Kavach — the indigenously developed Train Collision Avoidance System.

Officials also confirmed that the new services will operate six days a week, catering to heavy commuter and tourist demand. The Lucknow–Dehradun route will cut travel time by nearly two hours, while the Varanasi–Delhi train is expected to complete the journey in just under eight hours.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to flag off both trains via video conferencing, as part of the government’s continued efforts to strengthen rail infrastructure and promote Make-in-India technology.

With these additions, Uttar Pradesh will have a total of six operational Vande Bharat Express trains, the highest for any state in the country, underscoring its growing importance in India’s expanding high-speed rail network.
