Three killed in separate road accidents across Bengaluru

Bengaluru: Three people were killed in separate road accidents reported under the KR Market and Banaswadi Traffic Police limits on Wednesday, raising fresh concerns over road safety in Bengaluru.

The victims include a Porter delivery partner, a Rapido rider and a private company employee. Police have registered separate cases and launched investigations into the incidents.

Delivery partner dies after collision with BMTC bus

In the first incident, Lohit (20), a Porter delivery partner from Mandya, was killed after the motorcycle he was riding allegedly rammed into a BMTC bus on JC Road around 9.30 pm.

According to police, Lohit was on his way to pick up luggage for delivery when the accident occurred. He suffered severe injuries and died on the spot.

The KR Market Traffic Police have detained the BMTC bus driver for questioning and registered a case.

Rapido rider killed on Hennur-Horamavu Road

In another accident, Yalamurthy Anil Kumar (37), a Rapido rider, lost his life after his motorcycle was allegedly hit by a speeding BMTC bus near the Kammanahalli skywalk on Hennur-Horamavu Road around 5 pm.

Police said the impact of the collision was severe, and Anil Kumar died at the scene before he could receive medical assistance.

Private employee dies in head-on crash

In the third incident, Rahul (27), an accounts executive with a private company and a resident of Chikkabanaswadi, died in a head-on collision between two motorcycles near the Starbucks outlet on 80 Feet Road in Banaswadi around 8 am.

Rahul was reportedly travelling to work when the accident took place.

The Banaswadi Traffic Police have registered cases in both accidents under their jurisdiction and are investigating the exact circumstances that led to the crashes.

Police are examining eyewitness accounts, vehicle movements and other evidence as part of the ongoing investigations.
