In a world addicted to acceleration, the deepest transformation begins in stillness.
Stillness. Silence. Samadhi.
These are not poetic luxuries of mystics — they represent the peak efficacy of the parasympathetic nervous system, the body’s sacred restoration mode.
The mind thinks. The body ages. Emotions rise and fall; But observation stands astute.
When the parasympathetic system is activated, healing begins. The heart rate softens. Breath deepens. Muscles release their guarded contractions. The body exits survival mode and enters sanctuary mode.
Time: A Mental Construct or Living Energy?
The philosopher-physician Avicenna (Ibn Sina) described time as the magnitude of motion between past and future.
Centuries earlier, Aristotle defined time as a quantifier of change — something born from the perception of sequential motion, divided into “before” and “after.”
Time, then, is not merely clockwork. It emerges when motion is observed.
Without change, without perception — time dissolves.
When we enter meditation, when breath slows and awareness widens, the internal “clock energy” shifts. The body no longer counts in seconds — it counts in sensations, rhythms, and waves.
Clock Energy: The Body in Motion
Energy expresses itself in subtle biological choreography:
- Heartbeat synchronization — In pregnancy, mother and child entrain into rhythmic harmony. Two bodies, one cadence.
- Deep sighs — A physiological reset, releasing excess neural tension.
- Muscle cramps and twitches — Neurological recalibration; the body processing fatigue and stress.
- Yawning — Oxygen regulation, brain cooling, energy redirection.
- Sudden fatigue waves — Transition from prolonged stress mode to reset mode.
-
Full-body shivers — Basal tone reconfiguration within the nervous system.
These are not random events. They are energy reorganizing itself.
Energy itself carries five characteristics:
- Vibration
- Oscillation
- Frequency
- Rhythm
-
Wave
When aligned, they create coherence. When obstructed, they create turbulence.
Blocked Energy: The Arrow Within
The sage Ashtavakra teaches:
“You are not the body. You are not the mind. You are the witness.”
This witnessing is not detachment from life — it is intelligent participation.
What pierces us like an arrow carries both an outside stimulus and an inside response. The reaction is engineered by pre-existing wounds, reflected in the hidden mirror of memory.
The essential question becomes: What part of me is reacting?
Wounds have time limits. They contain repressed desires. They are unintegrated shadows.
When we observe rather than react, something miraculous happens:
The pain stops hurting. It reveals its character.
And in understanding it, strength of character is born.
“I am in flames,” says the awakened self — not of destruction, but purification.
Darkness disappears. Light descends.
Pranothan: When Cells Feel Safe
True transformation is not spectacle.
It is Pranothan — the rising of life-force when the body feels safe and abundant. When cells sense safety, they stop defending. Repulsion ceases. Energy begins to circulate freely.
Yet spiritual culture often reduces this sacred process to sensation and display.
Practitioners may inflate attainment. Participants may destabilize without grounding.
The popular phrase “kundalini awakening” is often misunderstood. The process is not dramatic eruption — it is disciplined evolution:
- Asana (postural alignment)
- Pranayama (breath regulation)
- Concentrated meditation
- Mudra (energetic seals)
-
Karma yoga (action with awareness)
Without containment, humility, and wisdom, energy can destabilize rather than illuminate.
Block-Lock: Karmic Impressions in the Body
Energetic obstructions arise from karmic impressions and psychological tension. They manifest as:
- Physical changes
- Unusual illnesses
- Heightened psychic perception
- Altered states of consciousness
- Intense energetic fluctuations
- Unconscious awareness emerging to the surface
Clarified awareness — often guided by a wise teacher — ensures inward stability. Ego softens. Persona reorganizes. Darkness transforms into luminosity.
The Parasympathetic Peak: Where Science Meets Samadhi
Samadhi is not escapism. It is neurophysiological refinement. When the parasympathetic system dominates:
- Inflammation reduces
- Heart rate variability improves
- Hormonal balance stabilizes
- Emotional reactivity declines
- Observation strengthens
Stillness is not absence. Silence is not void.
They are high-efficiency states of biological intelligence. The observer does not age as rapidly as the reactor.
Time bends in awareness. Energy reorganizes into harmony.
And the self realizes: I am not merely moving through time.I am witnessing motion.
In that witnessing, I become free.
