Strictly ban sale of new currency-packs and coin-packs on premium by private vendors – Probe necessary in supply of these by Reserve Bank of India and currency-chests in other banks

Chandni Chowk and its adjoining nearby markets is the main commercial hub of so many commodities (wholesale) in Delhi. It is also a wholesale market (especially Kachcha Bagh) for new packs of currency notes and coin-bags including also smaller coin-packs of 100 coins each in different denominations where new currency packs and coin-packs are openly sold at premium

There should be a strict ban on sale of new currency packs and coin packs with exemplary action taken under relevant section/s  of BNS in a  manner to create a feeling of fear against  such nuisance practice of sale of new currency-packs and coin-packs.

At the same time, enquiry should be about currency-chests in banks in Chandni Chowk area to determine source of supply of new coin-bags and currency-packs to private dealers selling these at premium in open market with action taken against those supplying these to private vendors. Every bank-branch having currency chest especially in Chandni Chowk area of Delhi must compulsorily maintain record of issue of new currency-packs and providing these only on submitting copy of Aadhar Card.

Effective measures should be taken so that new coin-packs of 100 coins each in each denomination may always be available in every branch of private or public sector bank not only in Delhi but also throughout the country.
