South Korean Woman Arrested for Illegal Entry Into India via Nepal

Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh — A joint team of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and Uttar Pradesh Police arrested a South Korean woman for allegedly entering India illegally through Nepal by changing her name, officials reported on Sunday.

The woman, identified as 54-year-old Park Seryeon alias Yogsuk, a resident of Seoul, South Korea, was intercepted near Seemant Inter College in Rupaidiha around 11 PM on Saturday night. Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Durga Prasad Tewari stated that during interrogation, the woman failed to produce valid travel documents.

A case has been registered against her under the Foreigners Act at Rupaidiha police station, and she has been taken into custody. Authorities seized her passport, laptop, mobile phone with a Nepali SIM card, Nepali currency, and other documents.

SSB’s 42nd Battalion Commandant Ganga Singh Udavat revealed that Park Seryeon is reportedly associated with the Church of God (World Mission Society). Investigations are ongoing to gather more information regarding her activities and intentions.
