Nitish Kumar Reddy, India’s seam-bowling all-rounder, has been ruled out of India’s limited-overs tour of the United Kingdom due to quadriceps injury. As per sources, he would undergo a rehabilitation programme of 2-3 weeks, and it isn’t a “major injury”. Nitish, who has played 20 internationals across the three formats of the game, was part of India’s white-ball squads for the England tour. He was also picked for the T20I series in Ireland.
Incidentally, India are already without the services of Hardik Pandya, the premier all-rounder, due to an injury. Nitish made his ODI debut last year against Australia in Perth and has accumulated one fifty in that format. He has also bagged two wickets in six ODIs. Both those wickets came in the India-Afghanistan ODI played in Dharamshala.
Recently, in the 2026 IPL, Nitish seemed to be consistently bowling quicker than before and ended up with eight wickets to his name. Before that IPL season, he undertook an eight-day training programme under the guidance of renowned fast-bowling coach Steffan Jones.
India are slated to partake in five T20I and three ODI in England, with the ODI series starting July 14 at Edgbaston.
