The 2026 China Open begins on Tuesday where India’s top badminton players will compete in one of the biggest tournaments on the BWF calendar. The BWF Super 1000 event will be an important tournament ahead of the 2026 World Championships, which will be held in New Delhi in August.
PV Sindhu will be the biggest attraction in the Indian squad after winning the Japan Open last week. The two-time Olympic medallist lifted the China Open trophy in 2016 and will once again be India’s strongest medal hope.
Devika Sihag and Unnati Hooda will also represent India in the women’s singles while Lakshya Sen, Ayush Shetty and HS Prannoy will compete in the men’s singles draw.
In men’s doubles, MR Arjun and Hariharan Amsakarunan are India’s only pair in the competition as Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty have withdrawn from the tournament as Satwik continues his recovery from a shoulder injury.
Tanisha Crasto and Dhruv Kapila, along with Rohan Kapoor and Ruthvika Shivani Gadde will play in the mixed doubles event.
Fans in India can watch the China Open live on the BWF TV YouTube channel. There is no confirmation yet on any other broadcast.
