Prayagraj, 19th Sept: “To explore the future meaningfully, we must ground ourselves in the wisdom of Needonomics School of Thought (NST) ,” said Prof. Madan Mohan Goel, Propounder Needonomics School of Thought, three-time Vice-Chancellor, and superannuated Professor from Kurukshetra University. Today, he was addressing the participants of Refresher Course on “ Needonomics for Future: Research, Resilience, and Renewal ” organized by the UGC- Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (MMTTC) , Iswar Saran PG College, Prayagraj.
The session was chaired by Prof. Anand Shanker Singh Programme Director/Principal. Dr Ved Mishra coordinator welcomed and honored Prof. M.M. Goel with a citation in recognition of his contributions.
Prof. Goel emphasized that research, resilience, and renewal must be guided by the principles of Gita-inspired Needonomics—a need-based, ethical, and sustainable economic approach.
He critiqued conventional profit-driven models and advocated for minimalist consumption, value-based education, self-reliance, and sustainable governance.
Prof Goel also highlighted the growing importance of digital ethics, including AI governance and data privacy, in building a just and equitable future.
Calling for a shift from “Greedonomics (economics of greed) to Needonomics (economics of needs),” Prof. Goel urged young researchers to become ambassadors of the philosophy of Needonomics and integrate it into community development.
Highlighting the importance of reimagining the Indian Knowledge System with Gita-inspired Needonomics, Dr. Goel emphasized that stakeholders must become street SMART—Simple, Moral, Action-oriented, Responsive, and Transparent.
Prof. Goel highlighted that while Gita appears in the 6th Parva of the Mahabharata, Anu-Gita, with 36 chapters and 1,040 shlokas, is found in the 14th Parva.
