Jammu &Kashmir, 28th September At an election rally in Jammu on Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the Congress for opposing the 2016 surgical strike against Pakistan and demanding proof of the operation. Modi accused the Congress of disrespecting the sacrifices of Indian soldiers and adopting a negative approach towards national security.
“The Congress has always opposed decisive actions. They even sought proof of the surgical strike against Pakistan and are still speaking Pakistan’s language,” Modi stated. He highlighted Congress’s alleged soft stance on terrorism, contrasting it with the BJP’s firm response to attacks from across the border.
Referring to the 2016 strike, Modi emphasized India’s growing defence capabilities and reiterated that “this is New India,” committed to defending itself and retaliating against terrorism. He recalled the strike on terrorist camps in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, warning that any further provocations would be met with a strong response.
