Akola (Maharashtra), Sep. 20, 2025 – At an Online National Conference organized by the Indian Social & Research Foundation in  Kala Mahavidyalaya Malkapur, Akola (Maharashtra)Prof. Madan Mohan Goel, Proponent of Needonomics and Former Vice-Chancellor (thrice), delivered the keynote address on the theme “Gita-Inspired Needonomics Framework for Human Value Formation and Holistic Resource Development.”

Principal Dr Geetali Pundedkar delivered the welcome address. Dr S.T Kute of Amarvati presided over the event.  Dr Pradip Takode introduced Prof M.M. Goel to the participants.

Online etiquette must guide the shift from fading values to new virtues in the mindful era, said Prof. Goel

Rooted in the timeless wisdom of the Gita, Needonomics framework highlights the shift from greed to need as the foundation for human progress, explained Prof Goel.

He argued that modern economic systems dominated by consumerism and Greedonomics have led to environmental degradation, social inequality, and psychological unrest.

Needonomics advocates moderation in consumption, ethical production, and equitable distribution of resources, told Prof Goel.

The framework of Needonomics underscores the need to cultivate values of contentment, responsibility, empathy, and sustainability, said Prof Goel.

Prof. Goel outlined the concept of Holistic Resource Development across five interconnected dimensions—material, intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual—ensuring that progress is not measured merely by economic indicators but also by human well-being and social harmony.

Gita-Inspired Needonomics framework offers a viable pathway to build a value-driven, ecologically balanced, and inclusive society, aligning perfectly with the contemporary global goals of sustainable development, concluded   Prof Goel.
