Published:

The Khadi Mahotsav in Uttar Pradesh has achieved a significant milestone, recording sales worth Rs 3.20 crore and marking an impressive 42 percent growth compared to previous editions. The event showcased a wide range of Khadi and village industry products, reflecting rising consumer interest in indigenous handloom and craft-based goods.

The increased footfall at the Mahotsav highlighted growing awareness and support for locally produced Khadi fabrics, herbal goods, traditional wear, and handmade accessories. Exhibitors from various districts of Uttar Pradesh participated, offering both contemporary and traditional designs that attracted buyers across age groups.

Officials noted that the sharp rise in sales represents a positive shift toward sustainability and self-reliance. The festival also offered a platform for artisans and small-scale craftsmen to reach wider markets, strengthening rural employment and encouraging entrepreneurship at the grassroots level.

The success of the Khadi Mahotsav is expected to inspire more such initiatives aimed at boosting the state’s cottage industry sector. With consumer preference leaning towards eco-friendly, handspun products, Uttar Pradesh’s Khadi industry could witness further growth in the coming years.
