Ranchi, 19th Sept: The Jharkhand government has carried out a sweeping reshuffle of its IPS cadre, transferring and assigning new postings to 30 officers, according to a notification from the Home, Prison and Disaster Management Department issued Thursday evening.
Key changes include Rakesh Ranjan taking charge as Ranchi Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), replacing Chandan Kumar Sinha, who has been appointed DIG, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).
Director General of Police Anurag Gupta has been relieved of additional responsibilities for the CID and ACB. Prashant Singh, DG Wireless, now holds the additional charge of DG, Headquarters, while Priya Dubey, ADG Jharkhand Armed Police, has been given the additional role of ADG, ACB.
Other notable postings:
- Suman Gupta is the new ADG, GRP.
- Kranti Kumar Gadideshi, Bokaro IG, becomes IG, Human Rights wing.
- Narendra Kumar Singh is IG, Vigilance & Security, Jharkhand State Electricity Board.
- Shailendra Sinha, Dumka IG, moves to IG, Palamu.
- Sudarshan Mandal, CID IG, is now IG, Headquarters, with additional charge of IG Jail.
- Sunil Bhaskar becomes Bokaro IG, and Mayur Kanhaiyalal Patel is IG, Dumka.
Among SP-level changes, Ajit Peter Dungdung is posted as Joint Director, Jharkhand Police Academy; Amit Renu takes over as Chaibasa SP; Saurabh becomes Deoghar SP; and Paras Rana is the new Ranchi City SP, with additional charge of JAP-10.
The large-scale reshuffle is aimed at strengthening law enforcement and streamlining operations across the state.
