According to the police, the incident occurred when KSISF personnel noticed a man allegedly throwing a packet over the prison wall. The security personnel immediately responded and chased the suspect for nearly 500 metres before successfully apprehending him.

The accused has been identified as Tilak Raj.

Undertrial prisoner allegedly involved

During preliminary investigation, police found that an undertrial prisoner, identified as Loy, had allegedly asked Tilak Raj to deliver the ganja inside the prison premises.

Following the arrest, police recovered 35 grams of ganja from the accused. They also seized two mobile phones as part of the investigation.

Officials are probing the circumstances under which the contraband was intended to be delivered and whether any other individuals were involved in the smuggling attempt.

Case registered at Barke Police Station

Based on the complaint, Barke Police Station registered a case against both Tilak Raj and undertrial prisoner Loy.

Police have launched further investigations to determine the source of the ganja and ascertain whether the accused had made similar attempts in the past.
