Flights to 10 Cities Will Be Available as Soon as Jewar Airport Opens

Published:

Air connectivity in the National Capital Region (NCR) is set for a major boost as the upcoming Noida International Airport (Jewar Airport) prepares for its grand opening next year. Officials have confirmed that flights to at least 10 major Indian cities will begin operations immediately after the airport’s inauguration.

According to sources from the Yamuna International Airport Pvt. Ltd. (YIAPL), the initial phase of operations will include flights to Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Pune, Patna, Lucknow, and Jaipur. The routes were finalized based on passenger demand analysis and airline readiness, ensuring a strong start for both business and leisure travelers.

YIAPL CEO Christoph Schnellmann said that construction work is in its final phase and the airport is on track for operational readiness by mid-2026. He added, “Our goal is to provide seamless connectivity across India from day one. Jewar Airport will not only ease congestion at Delhi’s IGI Airport but also become a key aviation hub for North India.”

Spread over 1,300 hectares, the Noida International Airport will feature a single runway and one terminal in its first phase, designed to handle 12 million passengers annually. Future expansion plans include four runways and capacity to serve over 70 million passengers per year.

Officials also revealed that several airlines, including IndiGo, Air India Express, and Akasa Air, have shown interest in starting operations from Jewar.

The airport is expected to significantly benefit Noida, Greater Noida, and Western Uttar Pradesh, driving economic growth, tourism, and job creation in the region.
