Chennai Super Kings (CSK) chief executive Kasi Viswanathan has rubbished rumours that the franchise is in the race to sign Hardik Pandya from Mumbai Indians (MI) in a close-season trade. CSK have not yet started their post-season review for 2026.
“CSK have not even reviewed the season yet, and we will only do so after the MLC (Major League Cricket) is complete,” Viswanathan told RevSportz. “I am currently in the United States. We have not spoken to anyone, and all that is being said about Hardik and CSK is untrue.”
The CSK franchise owns Texas Super Kings in the MLC. Meanwhile, reports have suggested that Mumbai Indians could offload their captain in a close-season trade, with several franchises, including Kolkata Knight Riders, reportedly interested in signing the all-rounder.
Asked about the speculation, an MI spokesperson told RevSportz: “We have just begun our post season review and will look into all aspects of the team.
“As with any review of this nature, a range of options and ideas will be evaluated before any decisions are made with regard to players, currently we are not engaged in conversations with regard to player trades, the same is only possible once the review is complete.”
In three seasons under Hardik’s captaincy, MI have qualified for the playoffs only once. This year, they finished ninth with eight points from 14 matches.
