The London premiere of F1, the highly anticipated racing drama, turned into a spectacle as Brad Pitt was joined on the red carpet by none other than Tom Cruise—marking their first public appearance together in over two decades. Dressed to perfection, the longtime friends and adrenaline junkies sent fans into a frenzy, reigniting hopes of a potential on-screen reunion.
Their last joint public outing was at the America: A Tribute to Heroes concert in 2001. Since then, sightings of the two together have been scarce, making this reunion all the more iconic. The last—and only—time they shared screen space was in the 1994 gothic drama Interview with the Vampire, making their reappearance together on a red carpet a nostalgic moment for fans and industry watchers alike.
While Brad naturally commanded attention as the lead star of F1, insiders say the film is a two-hander, helmed by Top Gun: Maverick director Joseph Kosinski. Pitt plays Sonny Hayes, a retired Formula One driver pulled back into the circuit to mentor a young racer, played by rising star Damson Idris.
Shot during real F1 weekends with Pitt and Idris performing their own high-octane driving scenes, F1 promises an immersive and authentic racing experience. It also features cameos by actual F1 stars, adding another layer of realism for motorsport fans.
Idris, speaking to Entertainment Tonight, shared his awe at being part of such a star-studded production. Reflecting on a surreal moment at Silverstone, he recalled:
“There were fireworks going off, Max Verstappen to my right, Brad Pitt to my left… and I was trying to look cooler than I felt. Brad’s really handsome—I was just trying to look cuter! Inside I was screaming. I felt so blessed and privileged to be part of this.”
As for Cruise and Pitt, their electric red carpet chemistry has only fueled speculation of a cinematic reunion—perhaps in a project as grand and action-packed as their real-life personas. And after 30 years of separate blockbusters, fans are more than ready.
