Bengaluru: The Department of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship & Livelihood (SDEL), Government of Karnataka, will host the second edition of the Bengaluru Skill Summit from November 3 to 5, 2026, at The Lalit Ashok Bengaluru, with a focus on strengthening workforce development, employability, and industry-aligned skilling systems under the theme “Workforce 2030: Scale, Systems, Synergy.”
Building on the success of its inaugural edition, the summit aims to bring together ministers, policymakers, industry leaders, academicians, training and assessment bodies, skilling aggregators, sovereign skilling organisations, and multilateral institutions to discuss the future of workforce development and employability.
The summit is being organised by the Department of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship & Livelihood in collaboration with Karnataka Skill Development Corporation (KSDC) and Karnataka Skill Development Authority (KSDA), with Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM) serving as the knowledge partner. The event is being managed by Trescon.
Summit to focus on employability and industry integration
According to the organisers, the 2026 edition marks a transition from policy intent to implementation, with a sharper emphasis on employability, industry integration, and scalable workforce development frameworks.
Held under the “Workforce 2030” theme, the summit will focus on three major priorities — expanding access to skilling opportunities, strengthening institutional frameworks, and deepening collaboration between government, industry, and academia.
The programme will address emerging workforce demands across Artificial Intelligence, Industry 4.0, deep technology, and green jobs while also promoting discussions around inclusion, innovation, apprenticeship-led learning, and global workforce mobility.
Organisers stated that discussions will additionally focus on strengthening industry-academia partnerships, expanding district-level skilling infrastructure, and aligning training systems with evolving employer expectations to improve workforce readiness.
Minister highlights Karnataka’s future-ready workforce vision
Dr. Sharanaprakash Rudrappa Patil, Minister for Skill Development, Entrepreneurship & Livelihood and Medical Education, Government of Karnataka, stated that the Bengaluru Skill Summit 2026 represents an important step in Karnataka’s commitment towards building a future-ready workforce.
He noted that as industries evolve and global opportunities continue to expand, the state remains focused on creating a unified and high-quality skilling ecosystem capable of enabling youth to compete successfully at the global level.
The Minister further expressed confidence that the summit would bring together leaders from multiple sectors to shape the next phase of Karnataka’s workforce and employability journey.
Platform to address emerging workforce challenges
With industries increasingly demanding job-ready talent, the summit is expected to spotlight integrated and industry-led skilling models combining vocational training, hands-on learning, upskilling, and re-skilling initiatives.
Key discussions will also explore workforce preparedness for emerging technologies, international employment opportunities, and scalable frameworks capable of supporting Karnataka’s ambition of becoming a global talent and skilling hub.
Organisers believe the summit will play a major role in supporting policy direction, enabling institutional collaborations, and accelerating the development of a globally competitive and mobile workforce aligned with Karnataka’s long-term economic growth ambitions.
Large-scale participation expected
The Bengaluru Skill Summit 2026 is expected to witness participation from over 4,500 delegates, more than 150 speakers, over 100 exhibitors, and more than 40 media partners.
The summit will also highlight Karnataka’s efforts to create a unified skilling ecosystem by connecting government initiatives, training institutions, employers, and global industry stakeholders through outcome-driven workforce strategies.
