The BCCI is not dragging on the incident that happened between Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Vishen Halambage during the game between India A and Sri Lanka A in Dambulla on Monday. Any action against the teenager is ruled out.
“We are just focusing on the (next) game and the tournament at this moment,” BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia told RevSportz. “We aren’t focusing on anything that is not related to the game and the tournament.”
There was a heated exchange between the two players during the game on Monday that led to physical contact. The match went to Super Over where the hosts won it.
India A’s next match is against Afghanistan A on Wednesday and not only will Tilak Varma’s side have to win it, they need other results to go in their favour to qualify for the final.
As regards Sooryavanshi, so far he has scored 14, 44 and 21 in the three matches in the ongoing tri-series so far.
