In the opening match of Sher-E-Punjab T20 season 2026, Anmolpreet Singh has produced one of the most explosive innings as he smashed 133 runs off just 51 balls to power Mohali Kings to a five-wicket victory over Amritsar Soormas on Sunday.
Having won the toss, Mohali Kings opted to field first, and Amritsar Soormas had set total of 258 in 19.5 overs. Mohali needed a rapid start, and Anmolpreet assured that they got exactly that. The right-handed batter took the attack to the Soormas bowlers from the outset as he partnered with Gurmehar Sara and later Ramandeep Singh to keep the required run rate under control.
His innings were strengthened by 10 fours and 12 towering sixes that came at a staggering strike-rate of 260.78. He reached his half-century in emphatic fashion and he continued attacking even after crossing three figures, keeping Mohali firmly ahead in the chase. He faced the deliveries from Abhishek Sharma, Jaipartap Singh Johal, Akash Pandey, Sahil Khan, Vaibhav Kalra, Mayank Markande and was finally dismissed for 133 in the 17th over, caught by Abhay Choudhary off Markande.
Ramandeep and Anmolpreet’s partnership shone bright as they made 151 runs off 70 balls. Captain Ramandeep eventually finished unbeaten on 69 off 40 balls. Harpreet Brar then went on to add a blistering 23 off 8 balls before Mohali completed the chase at 262/5 in 19.3 overs, sealing a five-wicket victory over the Soormas.
Anmolpreet was subsequently named the Player of the Match. His performance was so dominant that even opposition captain Abhishek was full of praise after the game, as he described it as “an innings of a lifetime”.
For Anmolpreet, this was a remarkable way to begin the Sher-E-Punjab T20 season by turning a daunting 259-run chase into a memorable victory with one of the most destructive knocks.
