Political strategist-turned-activist Prashant Kishor has dismissed speculation about a possible alliance with Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) leader Chirag Paswan, asserting that his movement in Bihar is an “alliance with the people” and not with political parties. The clarification came amid reports suggesting that Kishor might align with regional leaders ahead of the upcoming assembly elections.
Addressing the media during his Jan Suraaj Yatra, Kishor made it clear that his focus remains on building a people-centric political alternative rather than entering into traditional electoral coalitions. “My alliance is with the people of Bihar. I am not forming partnerships with any political leader or party,” he said, emphasizing that his movement is rooted in public participation and grassroots engagement.
The statement comes as speculation intensifies about Kishor’s political strategy and his potential role in Bihar’s shifting political landscape. His ongoing campaign has attracted considerable attention for mobilizing local communities and engaging directly with citizens on issues such as education, employment, healthcare, and governance.
Kishor, who has previously worked with major national and regional leaders as an election strategist, has repeatedly indicated that his current mission is distinct from conventional party politics. He has described Jan Suraaj as a long-term initiative to transform Bihar’s political culture and governance model.
Meanwhile, Chirag Paswan continues to consolidate his position within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) after his party’s strong performance in the recent elections. Political observers note that while both leaders appeal to youth and regional aspirations, their approaches differ significantly — Kishor seeking a movement-driven model and Paswan focusing on parliamentary politics.
Kishor’s categorical rejection of any alliance signals his intent to maintain independence from existing political structures, positioning his initiative as a people-powered movement aiming to redefine Bihar’s political future.
