Union Minister Kiren Rijiju has strongly countered Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s recent remarks about the younger generation’s political preferences. In a sharp rebuttal, Rijiju asserted that “Gen Z stands firmly with Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” highlighting that today’s youth resonate with the Prime Minister’s vision of a progressive and self-reliant India.
Rahul Gandhi had previously questioned the support of young voters for the Modi government, claiming that the youth seek transparency, employment, and equality, which, according to him, are not being addressed by the current regime. Responding to these claims, Rijiju emphasized that under PM Modi’s leadership, India has seen remarkable developments in digital innovation, skill enhancement, startup culture, and youth empowerment schemes.
Rijiju further added that Generation Z appreciates decisive leadership and national pride—attributes they find in Prime Minister Modi. He highlighted initiatives like Startup India, Digital India, and the New Education Policy as game-changers that reflect the government’s commitment toward building a future-ready generation.
The spirited exchange between Rijiju and Gandhi reflects the growing political focus on India’s youth, who comprise a significant portion of the electorate. As the country approaches its next election cycle, the battle for Gen Z’s support is likely to intensify, with both sides vying to present themselves as the voice of the nation’s future.
