Bilaspur Chhattisgarh, 12th September: Prof. Madan Mohan Goel, Proponent Needonomics School of Thought former Vice-Chancellor (thrice) and Superannuated Professor of economics, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, delivered online address on the topic “Relevance of Needonomics for Sustainable Business Practices” during the Refresher Course on “Sustainable Business Practices and Circular Economy” organized by the UGC- Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (MMTTC) , Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya (A Central University), Bilaspur.
The session was chaired by Prof. Alok Kumar Singh Kushwaha, Director, MMTTC. Prof. Bhuvana Venkatraman, Course Coordinator, delivered the welcome address and presented a citation highlighting Prof. M.M. Goel’s academic contributions and achievements.
Prof. Goel emphasized that integrating Needonomics with the circular economy- 3 R (Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle) creates a holistic framework of efficiency, balance, and well-being by promoting need over greed.
Highlighting the challenges of globalization, technological disruption, and consumerism, Prof. Goel observed that traditional economic models prioritizing profit maximization often overlook long-term impacts on society, environment, and human values.
“Needonomics provides a visionary yet practical framework by prioritizing needs over greed, enabling businesses to integrate ethics, environment, and equity into their practices,” he said.
“True progress lies not in limitless accumulation but in wise consumption, responsible production, and purposeful profit,” said Prof. Goel.
