The Rath Yatra, one of Hinduism’s most revered festivals, transcended religious boundaries and geographic borders to unite thousands in joy, devotion, and cultural splendor.

The Significance of Rath Yatra

Rooted in the 12th-century tradition of Puri, Odisha, the Rath Yatra commemorates Lord Jagannath’s annual journey to his aunt’s temple, the Gundicha Temple, symbolizing renewal, accessibility of the divine, and the joy of shared devotion. For centuries, it has epitomized spiritual inclusiveness—welcoming all, regardless of caste or creed, to pull the sacred chariot and seek blessings.
