During the inauguration, Kishan Reddy addressed a pressing issue that plagues the education and sports sectors across the country. He highlighted the severe lack of accessible playgrounds for students, stating:

“Today, in our country, there is a lack of playgrounds for school and college students. In fact, 95 percent of schools do not have proper grounds. This is leading to a decline in students’ interest and participation in sports.”

The Minister emphasized the need to increase sports infrastructure and preserve open land for the physical and mental well-being of the youth. He urged local municipal and state authorities to take proactive steps in protecting existing playgrounds, preventing land encroachments, and promoting sports culture among children and teenagers.

The Under-14 tournament is part of a broader initiative by Nivi Charitable Trust to engage youth in positive extracurricular activities and promote grassroots-level sports development. The event also aligns with the government’s ongoing efforts to encourage “Fit India” and Khelo India movements.

Kishan Reddy reaffirmed his commitment to supporting youth-centric initiatives and acknowledged the role of community organizations in nurturing young talent. His speech served as a call to action for policy-makers, educators, and community leaders to come together and prioritize sports infrastructure in urban and rural India.
