Indore: Indore witnessed a remarkable show of patriotism as the historic Mashaal Yatra, led by Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav, drew thousands to honor the martyrdom of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, and Rajguru on Shaheed Diwas. Organized annually for the past 21 years by Mayor Bhargav and the Sanghmitra organization, the event once again united the city in tribute to India’s brave revolutionaries.
The procession commenced from Phooti Kothi and concluded at Mhow Naka, resounding with chants of ‘Inquilab Zindabad’. Along the route, around 100 grand welcome stages were set up, while over 40 communities and trade organizations showered flowers on the participants, reflecting deep reverence for the martyrs. The Sikh community played a prominent role, adding a unique vigor to the occasion.
Thousands of torchbearers illuminated the night, creating a breathtaking display of unity and nationalism. The rally concluded with a grand Aarti of Bharat Mata, accompanied by symbolic tableaux paying homage to the freedom fighters.
Addressing the gathering, Mayor Bhargav highlighted the importance of remembering the sacrifices made by India’s heroes, urging citizens to remain connected to their legacy. The event saw the participation of several notable leaders, including BJP divisional in-charge Raghavendra Gautam, city president Sumit Mishra, MLAs Ramesh Mendola and Malini Laxman Gaur, former Mayor Krishna Murari Moghe, and others.
The Mashaal Yatra stood as a powerful reminder of the revolutionary spirit that shaped India’s freedom struggle, ensuring that the legacy of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, and Rajguru continues to inspire generations.
