Overview
Preeti announced herself on the continental stage at the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou. Competing in the 54kg category, she defeated Kazakhstan’s Zhaina Shekerbekova in the quarterfinals to secure an Olympic quota for Paris 2024 and assure herself of a medal.
She eventually finished with bronze after losing her semifinal to China’s Chang Yuan. The result still earned her a place at her first Olympic Games.
At Paris 2024, Preeti began her campaign with a 5–0 victory over Vietnam’s Vo Thi Kim Anh. She then narrowly lost 2–3 to Colombia’s Yeni Arias in the Round of 16.
Her next major breakthrough came in 2025. After returning to international competition, Preeti won gold at the World Boxing Cup Finals in Greater Noida. She defeated Chinese Taipei’s Huang Hsiao-Wen in the semifinal before beating Italy’s Sirine Charaabi in the final.
That momentum carried into 2026. BoxRec records Preeti winning all three of her Commonwealth Games bouts before the final, defeating opponents from Malawi, Scotland and Zambia. She then beat Canada’s Scarlett Delgado in the 54kg final to claim Commonwealth Games gold.
