The Women’s Selection Committee has announced the India A squads for the upcoming series against Australia A in India, starting September 12. The three T20s will be played in New Chandigarh from September 12 to 17, followed by three One-Day matches at the PCA Stadium in Mohali from September 20 to 25. The only Multi-Day match will be played in Dharamshala from September 29 to October 2.
Among the squads, youngster Anushka Sharma has been named captain for the T20s, while Yastika Bhatia will lead the side in both the One-Day and Multi-Day formats. Sayali Satghare has been named Anushka’s deputy for the T20s.
Yastika, who did not find a place in India’s squads for the upcoming Women’s Asia Cup and Asian Games, will now take charge of the India A side in the One-Day and Multi-Day matches.
Eyes will also be on players such as Vrinda Dinesh, who has been included in both the T20 and One-Day squads, while Nikki Prasad and Vaishnavi Sharma have been named in all three squads.
