Suryansh Shedge, a name that might not have attracted the same level of attention as some of the more established names on the India A tour, but he has emerged as one of Indian cricket’s most exciting young lower-order finishers. A player known for his aggressive batting style and his ability to contribute significantly.
As a part of the India A squad, across the first three matches, Shedge has produced scores of 26 off 14 balls against Sri Lanka A, 40 off 27 balls against Afghanistan A, and 72 off 66 balls against Sri Lanka A again. Through these innings he has proved his ability to seamlessly adapt across different match situations, rather than relying on a single batting template. He has also been able to reach a formidable strike rate of 185.71 in the first match against Sri Lanka A, as he was the player who had provided the rapid acceleration at the death to close out the innings.
Additionally, this performance of his is a continuation of the progress that he had made during the IPL 2026 season, where he played for team Punjab Kings under their coach Ricky Ponting, scoring 165 runs across his innings as he earned praise for his aggressive lower-order batting.
Shedge is steadily building a case for himself with his ability to accelerate at the death, rebuild an innings, and establish himself as one of India’s most promising emerging all-rounders.
